Taking the stress out of relocation
Relocating from another area or country is never easy, but Fish Home Finders are committed to making the move as smooth as possible. The single biggest reason for unsuccessful relocations is the assignee not settling into their new environment rather than an issue with their new role within the company. We pride ourselves in our local knowledge, recognising the importance to assignees of feeling at home in their new surroundings as soon as possible. We understand what they are going through and are always on hand to provide friendly advice and answers to the many questions that come up along the way. And we’re experienced in dealing with a range of assignees – from graduates to very senior executives with little time to spare.
We also appreciate the need to keep all parties happy and informed at all times – our corporate clients, Relocation Management Companies and the assignees themselves.
The steps below provide an overview of what’s involved when we help companies to relocate their employees. We would be delighted to answer any questions you may have or to explain more about our service, so please don’t hesitate to contact us.
1. Understand your requirements
If possible we like to meet with the client that we are helping to relocate to fully understand their individual property and lifestyle requirements. We appreciate that often this isn’t possible or practical to do, in which case we will take a detailed brief via the telephone.
2. Property search - buying or renting
Working closely with you we search the entire market, based on a detailed brief of your requirements. As well as finding ‘on market’ properties we also get to know about any that are ‘off market’ –those which aren’t officially on the market, giving you a competitive advantage.
3. Viewings
Viewings of agreed shortlisted properties are arranged at your convenience. You will be accompanied by your property search consultant, who is there to provide objective advice and discuss feedback. We will refine our search further until the ideal property is found.
4. Negotiation
Once the right property for you has been found we discuss and advise you on how best to proceed with the negotiations. We will then handle all negotiations on your behalf. Our market knowledge and ‘emotional detachment’ ensures we are best placed to secure the property at the best possible price. This often means that our service pays for itself. In cases where there are other offers on the property our strong relationships with letting and estate agents, and their appreciation that we act for serious buyers and tenants, helps ensure you keep ahead of the competition.
5. Settling-in
To help you settle into your new home we can assist in a number of ways. We can organise removals, arrange the transfer of utilities and provide information packs on your new area outlining key services and amenities available. We can also provide ongoing settling-in assistance if required.
Additional Services
We also offer the following services if required:
- Area Familiarisation Tour - A tour of your preferred area(s) can be arranged before carrying out the property search. This provides you with an overview of the pros and cons of the area, including property styles and values plus local services and amenities.
- School Search - We can provide in-depth information about both state and independent schools in the property search area, arrange meetings with the school and accompany you on visits if required.
- Area Information Packs - We can provide local area information packs to give you an overview of your chosen area, including information on local services such as shops, health providers, schools and leisure activities.
- One-off Preview and Report Service - This service is available if you are interested in a particular property that you have found yourself but do not require a full home search service. For a one-off fee we will view any property on your behalf and provide an unbiased assessment in a written report, including digital pictures. If the property fails to meet your expectations with a further payment you can upgrade to become a full home search client.
- Check-in/out services - An independent report designed to help protect the tenant’s deposit by detailing the condition of the property and contents when moving in and out, including meter readings and contacting relevant utility companies.
